A native of Compton, California, Umar A. Hakim Dey is Executive Director of ILM (Intellect Love Mercy) Foundation. He is responsible for facilitating ILM Foundation’s programming and its social-preneurial vision for social change. These programs, including Humanitarian Day, Go Beyond the G.A.M.E, and S.E.E.D. provide intuitive educational experiences that empower local Angelinos.

Umar is the founding principal of INKERIJ® (pronounced “Encourage”), an advisory organization that works to “help leaders and organizations be more relevant with its base, especially in post COVID-19 times.” Its objective is to establish a more modern leadership approach for communities of color and beyond its borders.  As an active community organizer and Board President at LA Voice, Umar says, “We have to make sure there’s a seat for marginalized communities and our voice at the round table.”

Currently, Umar is working to continue creating awareness by hosting Community Accountability Labs, so residents can sustain presence and not be excluded from the communities in which they have lived for years.

Kaveri Singh is a Los Angeles-based artist who has worked with leading designers from around the world. Her work adorns historic estates such as the Greer Mansion, the Brody House, and the LA Conservancy’s Dominguez Wilshire restoration. Kaveri grew up in India surrounded by art and creative expression. At age 17, she went to Europe to study art.

The merging of Eastern and Western traditions has become the common thread throughout her art. It led to one of Kaveri’s most significant projects: a Sacred Murals project in Sarnath, India, depicting the life of the Buddha. The concept was to portray the visible world as a mirror of the spiritual domain. In this light, the merging of styles, traditions, and myths speaks to fundamental human responses to harmony and beauty — a concept that is all about inclusion, and that infuses all her work.

Rev. Angie Buchanan, an Advisor to The Guibord Center, is a Founder and the Spiritual Director of Earth Traditions, a Pagan church. She also founded Gaia’s Womb, an interfaith spirituality group that has been producing women’s spiritual retreats for over 20 years. A certified death midwife, she developed and teaches a certification course that provides hands-on, intensive training for compassionate end-of-life care and information on ecologically sensitive funerals (www.deathmidwife.org). She currently serves as the pagan student spiritual advisor at the University of Chicago.

Rev. Angie has been involved with numerous organizations that promote interfaith dialog and peace. She is a life-long Pagan animist with over 40 years of experience as a speaker, officiant, and ritualist. She served on the Board of Trustees for the Parliament of World Religions from 2002 – 2010 and is active emerita. In addition, she is a longtime activist for religious freedom, women’s rights, and First Amendment protections. In 2014, she was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr., International College of Ministers and Laity, at Morehouse College.
