ABOUT THE GUIBORD CENTER
The Guibord Center – Religion Inside Out is an educational, nonprofit interfaith organization founded in Los Angeles in 2011. The Center partners with faith communities and individuals to open hearts and minds through a range of programs, public lectures, and immersive events. These experiences reveal the compassion and transformative power at the center of our many religious and spiritual traditions and counter distorted views we may hold about them and one another.
We invite people everywhere to join us in “turning religion inside out”— affirming and sharing in the common values at the center of our faiths and spiritual practices, such as kindness, compassion, respect, humility, and concern for others.
While The Guibord Center is not itself affiliated with any individual religion or tradition, we work with a growing number of faith communities that are each an important part of our larger community here in the United States. Our current collaborations include Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Indigenous Spirituality, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Sikhism, and Zoroastrianism.
The Guibord Center’s Initiatives bring the spiritual voice and values of our many different faiths to these specific issues in urgent need of their perspective. Our current focuses are:
- Animals, Faith, and Compassion – https://theguibordcenter.org/animals
- Faith, Women, and Violence – https://theguibordcenter.org/women
- Children, Youth, and Young Adults – https://theguibordcenter.org/youth
- Nonviolence – https://theguibordcenter.org/nonviolence
Our calendar includes major community events, specific lectures and more intimate, informal gatherings. These provide a safe, welcoming space for participants of all beliefs to have an immersive experience of the views and different traditions of their neighbors.
All of our events are FREE and open to the public. They are also filmed and made available on our website at no charge.
