These days congregations in all faith traditions in the United States are grappling with complicated issues that bring out strong feelings. Rather than avoiding the difficult conversations, some leaders have chosen to create space and guidelines to address them together. Which strategies are working? What needs to be in place for continued success? How do leaders get training and build support to do this work? Our storytellers will share their experiences. Inspiring Stories: In the Face of Irreconcilable Differences
Online via ZoomBridging the red-blue divide in our families, faith communities, and beyond Welcome to our third season of storytelling and conversation on complex issues we all care about. Once again, The Guibord Center and IslamiCity are bringing together people with rich spiritual backgrounds and diverse perspectives to share powerful stories from the heart and invite you into the conversation. We’ve all been there–that moment when we realize that our political disagreements with someone we care for are so profound that we wonder how we will be able to keep the relationship going. In those moments, what kind of guidance can we find in our spiritual traditions to make important decisions about whether to stick with it, take a break or bring it to a close? Our storytellers will share their experiences and the wisdom they have leaned on in those challenging moments. Our Moderator and Speakers for this event: REGISTER

Hebridean Treasure: Lost and Found
The Los Angeles Baha'i Center 5755 Obama Blvd., Los Angeles, CA, United StatesThe Guibord Center Presents An Evening with John Philip Newell, including a special screening of"HebrideanTreasure: Lost and Found" The Inspiring Story of a People's Soul told in song, dance and narrativewith discussion and Q&A to follow. This in-person event will take place at The Los Angeles Baha'i Center. See below for address. ‘Hebridean Treasure: Lost & Found’ is a film version of a live-stage dance, music, and song performance by some of Scotland’s most talented young artists in which the acclaimed writer John Philip Newell tells the story of Celtic Spirituality and its love of Earth through the lens of the Western Isles of Scotland. It includes the pathos of the "Highland Clearances" in which tens of thousands of Scots were cleared from their ancestral lands, an injustice that has been perpetrated repeatedly against Native peoples throughout the world with the consequent loss of the Native wisdom which we so urgently need to recover today for the healing of humanity’s relationship with Earth. Attendance is free; however, donations through a Free Will Offering are welcome for the continued development of this project to enable its vision to be widely shared in live performance and film.
