Hope in the Holy
20 Years of the Interfaith Community 9/11/2001- 9/11/2021About Hope in the Holy
Hope in the Holy is a short documentary honoring the interfaith community’s history and growth, from its start on September 11, 1893, through 9/11/2001 and to this day. Throughout these years, the way we communicate with one another has changed and opened up access to information accessible in seconds via the worldwide web.
The goal of the terrorists who brought down the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, was to trigger the collapse of America. They expected and hoped to create such fear that amid our grief and confusion we, with our many different religions and beliefs, would turn on one another.
The strength of America, then as now, is in the power of our people to come together around shared values in a common good. Even as some did exploit the fear for their own purposes, countless others have worked instead to find hope in the Holy and build enduring relationships within and across communities of faith that help to keep us safe.
Please join us as we remember those lost on 9/11/01 and share a diverse sampling of what people across faiths have built in Southern California to create communities of caring, trust and solidarity, working for the good of all Americans.
