About Ananda
Ananda is a global spiritual movement, based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, who showed how everyone can realize God in their daily lives as a tangible, loving reality.
You can feel harmony, and God’s active presence in your life through ancient and effective techniques, including meditation, Kriya Yoga, spiritually-oriented Hatha Yoga, community, and divine friendship. Kriya Yoga is a highly effective meditation technique that can be integrated into any meditation and prayer practice.
Ananda was founded in 1969 by Yogananda’s direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda, who passed away in 2013.
In this event, Nayaswami Narayan discussed the nature of truth and helped us discover the truth within ourselves through guided meditation, music, and prayer.
Nayaswamis Narayan and Dharmadevi are disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda. At Swami Kriyananda’s request, they moved to Los Angeles and became the spiritual directors of Ananda LA in 2010.
Prior to that, they lived at Ananda Village in Northern California. There, Narayan helped manage Crystal Clarity, the publishing arm of Ananda. Dharmadevi started Ananda online classes (now called Online With Ananda) and the Ananda Virtual Community.
Narayan and Dharmadevi were made Ananda ministers, Lightbearers, and Kriyacharyas by Nayaswamis Jyotish and Devi. They are both longtime meditators and Kriyabans, as well as certified Ananda meditation and yoga Instructors.
