Men of Faith Speak Out - A PSA by The Guibord Center
Violence against women and girls will not end until men step in and speak out. It’s that simple — and that urgent.
When The Guibord Center began planning a program to address the roots of this violence, we discovered something powerful: many men are not only willing to get involved, they’re eager.
Our Advisors reached out across faith communities, asking men if they would participate in a film confronting violence against women and girls. The response was immediate. The phone started ringing — and it didn’t stop.
Men wanted to bring their sons. They wanted people to know how deeply they care about the safety and dignity of women and girls. They wanted to speak as men of faith, as fathers, and as human beings who refuse to stay silent. Some traveled long distances just to be part of the filming. They arrived honored, excited, relieved, and grateful for the chance to make a difference.
We give thanks for them — and for all the men and boys around the world who teach their sons and friends to be decent and respectful; who call their buddies back into line when they stray; who challenge colleagues to act with integrity; who stand up to strangers who threaten, mock, or harm women and girls.
Violence can be stopped. But it will take all of us. This is a start.
