Dr. Lisa Patriquin Ph.D.

Lisa is a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church (PCUSA), serving as an ordained elder and the director of Christian Education and Mission in local Los Angeles churches.  She has worked extensively with all age groups, but has a special passion for creating opportunities for children, youth and young adults to grow in faith, knowledge and outreach to others.

Lisa has volunteered for many years as the Chair of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Workgroup of the Presbytery of San Fernando, and has represented the presbytery and the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii as a member of the Christian Muslim Consultative Group and The Guibord Center.  Lisa recently completed a three year-term in Bogota, Colombia as the Director of International Relations and Community Outreach, with a two-fold assignment  to strengthen the partnership between the Presbytery of San Fernando and Presbiterio Central  (Presbyterian Church of Colombia) and increase opportunities for youth, young adults, lay leaders and pastors to study and serve in both Colombia and the US.

Prior to her career in ministry, Lisa worked as a teacher and administrator in English as a Second Language and international education at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles. She holds a PhD in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California and a Masters in Latin American Studies from UCLA.   Lisa has spent her entire adult life as a border-crosser, the mother of a son who is bicultural (Iranian and American) and the teacher, colleague and friend of many beloved people all over the world.
