Dr. Amir Hussain is an American Muslim, Pakastani born, who lived and was educated in Canada. Currently he is Professor of Theological Studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where he teaches popular courses on Islam, American Muslims and world religions.
His most recent book, Muslims and the Making of America, was published by Baylor University Press in October of 2016. He was editor of The Journal of the American Academy of Religion, the premiere scholarly journal for the study of religion from 2011 through 2015. In 2008, Dr. Hussain was appointed a fellow of the Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities.
He is the co-editor of three textbooks on world religions and author or editor of more than 50 chapters and scholarly articles about religion. He is also a much sought after speaker and an award winning, beloved professor.
