“Holy Days of Light: Roots of Hanukkah and Christmas”
December 8 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm| Free
Rabbi Neil Comess-Daniels and the Rev. Peter Rood
In Judaism, hope is embodied in the miracle of light celebrated in the festival of Hanukkah, and in Christianity, hope comes through the birth of Christ, the Light of the world. Rabbi Neil Comess-Daniels (Temple Beth Shir Shalom, Santa Monica) and the Rev. Peter Rood, (Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Westchester LAX) will present the origins of Hanukkah and Christmas, and how light became the symbol of hope associated with these beloved holidays.
A special program will be available for children ages 7 to 12 for the entire family to enjoy the day together. If you plan to bring children, please include how many and their ages when you RSVP. The registration deadline for children is December 1st so that we have appropriate materials for all our participants.
